The Imperfect Benjarong cup was created by removing some parts of traditional patterns and using primary colours to give it a more modern look.

Artisans can work more efficiently with a square shape that has flat surfaces.

The traditional Thai porcelain, Benjarong

Design process

Design process
Imperfect Benjarong, 2021
Benjarong is a renowned Thai porcelain often given as a traditional gift. However, it is usually only used for decoration and stored away. To make it more practical while maintaining its charm, I aim to design it with a contemporary twist that embraces imperfections. The Imperfect Benjarong will help expand the Thai porcelain market globally.
